Gearing up for Fall conventions.

Posted by Linda Chambers on Thu, Aug 20, 2015 @ 01:06 PM

Hello all,

I have been very busy getting things ordered for our exhibit booths and Power Points updated or created for our up coming conventions this Fall.

On Sept 10-12th Soap Warehouse will be at the UAMCC event in Charleston, SC. This National Convention is free and contractors that are not even a member yet are invited to come. Just contact me at 800-762-7911 or by e-mail at info@soapwarehouse.biz to request your free VIP tickets to get in. Once you have your ticket you can go and register at the UAMCC website HERE with your ticket number. This way a name card will be ready and waiting for you when you check in. This year it is being held at the Embassy Suites Charleston Area Convention Center Hotel located at 5505 International Blvd. North Charleston, SC 29418. There is a great line up in store for attendees.

UAMCC2015schedule

I will be a speaker for two safety sessions, General "Chemical Safety" on the 11th at 3 pm and then first thing in the morning on the 12th at 7 am to talk about "How to set up OSHA training" for your employees. A very needed and seldom covered topic.

A few months later on Nov.12-14th Soap Warehouse will be at the PWNA National Convention being held in Charlotte, NC at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel3315 Scott Futrell Dr., Charlotte, NC 28208.

To register for this event you can go HERE and if you pay before Aug. 21st you can save $25. PWNA member cost is $249 additional attendees $149@, non-members $349 with additional attendees $249@.

Both Conventions offer Certification classes, please visit their websites for information and pricing if required.

At the PWNA event I will be giving a brand new talk on "How pH effects cleaning." Many do not realize how pH works and why it is important to understand how your chemicals will work.

At both events we will have an exhibit booth that attendees can come by and take at chance at our prize wheel. This year our theme is "Don't Gamble on your Soap." you can spin and win a chance to draw a poker chip that can be worth $5, $10, $25 or even $50 dollars to use toward any Soap Warehouse product purchase with at the show or later on. Other prizes will be a letter opener, a water bottle or a spray bottle with a Soap Warehouse product already in it where you only have to add water once you get home to have roughly a free quart of product to try out. Product in the free sample bottle will vary.

Our booth will also have a large assortment of product in quarts and gallons for purchase with or without using a chip. Quart prices start at $3 and even the gallons will be $1-$2 lower than our regular prices.

If you would like us to bring an order to either show you are attending, just call and place the order by the Friday prior to that show so we can bring it with us and save you the shipping cost. You will just have to load it and take it home in your own vehicle.

As always we will also have a booth drawing box at the booth and will again be offering a free 60 second professional video produced by iMotion Video, currently a $795.00 value. iMotionPrice

Every business owner that has won this and are using their video love the traffic it generates their business. Some even use their's at Home Shows to draw people over to their booth. Other uses are on your website, to link to from e-mail or Facebook ads. Video gets people's attention and creates business.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at these events and will be excited to met and talk with you.

UAMCC event Atlanta March 19th 2015

Posted by Linda Chambers on Mon, Mar 23, 2015 @ 11:38 AM

The weather may have been dreary outside but those that came to the UAMCC Atlanta event didn't mind.

Soap Warehouse and Iron Man Pressure Washers hosted this event on Thursday March 19th at the Fairfield Inn & Suites at Gwinnett Place. Most came from the local metro area, but there were also contractors that came from out of town, from Augusta, GA, Palmetto, GA, Greenville, SC and as far as Fort Pierce, FL.

It was a fast past packed full day of sessions mainly focusing on marketing and OSHA compliance. With sessions shortened to only 30 minutes each, a lot more focused material was covered, which kept the day moving and so no one could be uninterested for long. Sessions covered: Linda Chambers from Soap Warehouse gave talks on Inbound Marketing, Why you should use Videos, and Referral Programs.

Soap Warehouse gave away a 60 second professional video as a door prize after the Why use Video session and Todd Reese of Georgia Power Washing won.

Three speakers came in to cover Outbound Marketing with Online Yellow Pages and Adwords. Then Arrie Parker from Iron Man had a session on Occupational Health followed by a healthy lunch of Subway sandwiches, fruit, chips and drinks.

Things went so fast a few extra sessions were squeezed in. After lunch Nichole from UAMCC discussed the new revisions of their certification program and other benefits of membership. Arrie gave again a session on Cold Calling he gave at this event last year, which was followed up by Linda giving how to set up OSHA training, after which Soap Warehouse gave a way a $50 product gift card and Ryan Fox of Outback GutterVac won that door prize. Ryan is on the right.

Next was Spill kits why you should have one and how to make one, ending with the hands on OSHA Spill kit training at the end of the day on how to put together your own DIY spill kit and actual spill kit practice inside in the hotels pool area simulating a small spill of a potassium hydroxide concrete cleaner.

The event finish just before 4:00 allowing everyone to get on the road to try and be ahead of some of Atlanta's well known traffic.

Mini Bulk Tanks

Posted by Linda Chambers on Wed, Feb 19, 2014 @ 09:37 AM

At the UAMCC convention in Houston Univar came as an exhibitor and brought attention to a product many large pressure washing contractors might never have thought of or known was even available.

Univar has a program called the Mini Bulk Service containment system. This is where they will deliver right to your location a specialized tank, sizes start at 200 gallons, that they will then fill with bulk liquid chemical that you purchase from them.

Think of it the same as when a propane gas company puts in a large tank and then comes and fills it up once or twice a season. These tanks are set up for Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Hydroxide, the smaller one holds 200 gallons the larger one 600.

UnivarMiniTankUnivarDelivery

Univar offers a wide selection of chemicals delivered via Mini-Bulk, Sodium Hypochlorite being one that most exterior cleaning contractors would be using. For the complete product list, contact a Univar representative.

Now pricing will vary depending on your location and you must take into consideration a few things when making a cost analysis between buying chemical and getting it your self vs. bulk delivery.

1. Do you have the room and proper security for a bulk tank?

2. Do you use the chemical up fast enough to need at least 200 gallons or more at a time?

3. How much does it cost you in time and gas to get the same volume of chemical to your location any other way?

4. What is the cost with each delivery and price per gallon with the Mini Bulk Service? Buying in volume can save money.

5. Will you have to take time away from other work to get a delivery?

There are positives above monetary for using a bulk system:

Eliminates multiple smaller containers, i.e. 55 gallon drums stored at your location freeing up space.

Reduces the size needed for a tank on your rig since you can refill daily at your location.

Drums that need to be moved around can be a danger due to their weight and higher possibility of accidental spills. Bulk tanks reduce the potential for uncontained spills with some larger tanks even having their own spill container base.

Protects your employees by minimizing their exposure to hazardous materials.

Stops the need to clean/rinse and return emptied drums to get back a deposit or lower the cost for refill if that is what you are having to do now. That takes employee time and again can be a safety issue.

Reduces the number of times you have to stop and go get or take delivery of chemicals.

So if your business uses a lot of Sodium Hypochlorite you might want to call your local Univar location to check in to their Mini Bulk Services to see if it could save you time and money.
